En Shi Yu Lu - Jadedew from Mount En Shi. All of En Shi is a mountainside situated in the south of Hubei where altitudes below 1000m are rare. This region features a huge variety if different ethnicities. In ist 24.000 square kilometres live approximately 4 million people - comparison: Hesse has over 6 million citizens in an area that's a little bit smaller. The tea is very "japanese" which results from the unusual production method - it gets steamed and roasted which gives it the "japanese notes". The leaf is dark and small, the infusions fruity and sweet with prominent bitterness which changes into finer greentea notes. Very nice to see is the fine shimmer of the leaf. Although it is a low-budget tea, it is still very well produced.
